The Ubin cycling trip was called off because too many peeps bailed last minute. So instead, I went to Kota Tinggi with my family and it was awesome! We took loads of photographs and miraculously didn't get sunburnt. The waterfalls are magnificent, but for an instant, the trees caught my attention. They're
huuuge. And suddenly I'm reminded of a poem I read more than two years ago...
"Trees" by Alfred Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918)I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
How true. And although I'm not exactly ready to go out and hug a tree, I think they're beautiful, majestic things. It's just too bad we don't get to experience all four seasons. Don't know when will I be able to take a vacation somewhere faraway. Like my relatives, who are leaving for Bali next week. Geez, I never thought I'd say this but I can't wait to be retired (like them). Wait, I'm not even working yet. -_-"
